ReceiverGroup is a joint venture combining the expertise of Dern Greinetz & Company, HotelRetail Advisory Group, Talcott Properties and Thomas Scott Properties LLC. The comprehensive experience of this partnership provides our clients with more strategic and creative solutions than traditional receivership companies.
Dern Greinetz & Company
Dern Greinetz & Company has been a fixture in the San Francisco hospitality market for the past 20 years. Its founders, John Dern and Alan Greinetz, bring a wide breadth of experience and educational background into play. Mr. Dern earned an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of Business, while Mr. Greinetz earned honors at the University of California and secured a CPA license while under the employment of Peat Marwick.
The firm's successes include some of the most noteworthy hotels and restaurants in San Francisco history. Kuleto's Italian Restaurant, which the company opened in 1986, Postrio, which the company opened with Wolfgang Puck in 1989, Ozumo, which the company helped to found in 2002, and Town Hall, which the company opened in 2003 in partnership with Mitchell & Steven Rosenthatl and Doug Washington, remain, to this day, San Francisco icons.
After selling two of its collection of boutique hotel in 2006 and 2007 at significant profits to its investors, the company retains the Prescott hotel and Town Hall in its investment portfolio. In 2007, the company was engaged by SIGNATURE PROPERTIES, one of the Bay Area's leading developers, to secure restaurant tenants for its mixed-use project at Broadway & Grand in Oakland. As a result of its efforts, Ozumo Oakland opened in December 2008, and Pican, a contemporary southern restaurant, will open in March 2009. DGC was engaged in May 2008 by Ellis Partners to assist in the creation of a unique waterfront dining district within the historic Jack London Square in Oakland.
HotelRetail Advisory Group
HotelRetail Advisory Group provides comprehensive consulting services to developers and owners of hospitality and retail properties nationwide. Its founder, Carrie Dern, brings nearly 20 years of experience in asset management on behalf of some of the world's largest financial institutions. Ms. Dern was Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Equitable Real Estate, and later served in a consulting capacity for Gerald Hines Real Estate.
HRAG has recently been engaged to perform strategic asset management services for the Adam's Mark hotel portfolio in connection with a comprehensive retail repositioning within its five properties.
Ms. Dern secured a CPA license while employed within both the audit and tax practices of Arthur Andersen & Co., and earned a Masters in Business Administration from University of California, Berkeley (1989).
